it's that time of year...

The acorns have started to fall. Every time I'm on our patio, I'm tensed- waiting for an acorn to crack on my skull.

Yep, I find the fall so relaxing. There's nothing better than being pelted by acorns.

For Your Listening Pleasure

At work, I listen to my ipod. Nothing makes cleaning a toilet in the men's room more fun than cleaning a toilet while listening to an interesting podcast.

WNYC's "Radio Lab" is one of my new favorites. It's a science show, and I think that it is one of the most creative things I've ever heard. The last one I listened to was called "where am I?" or something like that. They talked about what happens when the brain looses the body- like phantom limbs. There was also another one about emergence, and they were talking about how humans as a group are smarter than as individuals, and how ants are really stupid, but they are astonishing as a group.

You can't see it very well, but his lip is busted. He fell as he was getting out of the car.



And we have fish now. Their names are Fred. Fred the Fishes. The brothers Fred.

And- a video! This is his new suitcase/backpack. It's a little big for him, and throws off his balance. Shortly after this video, he fell over backwards and couldn't get back up. Like a turtle.

RJ and the Monkey went to Home Depot yesterday and brought me home the most wonderful gifts... flowers and a staple gun! X came and knocked on the garage door, and walked in carrying the flowers he had picked out for me. It melted my heart.

hmmmmm. I thought I had something else, but I don't think I do.

What a great rainy morning! The Child asked to leave the back door open so he could listen to the rain.
