Here's our Summer List again. What we've done is in blue...
Swim (we joined our neighborhood pool this year)
Go to the zoo
Have a picnic
Go to a baseball game
Go to the lake
Join the library's summer reading program
Catch fireflies
Plant something and keep it alive
Play video games together
Read lots of books
School- we've only got fun stuff to do this summer
See movies- Toy Story 3, Avatar the Last Airbender (we've watched the cartoon, which is so good!), Karate Kid, Despicable Me
Go see the ocean!
Visit a museum
The Boy reached his summer reading goal- to fill up his little sticker passport from the library. He had to read 40 books to fill it all up, and has read more than that. I'm really proud of him! He has even started reading simple chapter books and Calvin and Hobbes.
And as for movies- RJ was gone for about 4 weeks with the Army, so he missed the openings of most of them. While he was gone, I took X to see Toy Story. When he got home, as a treat for the Boy, we took him to two movies in one day. We saw Avatar the Last Airbender and Despicable Me. Our reviews: Toy Story was great, Avatar was disappointing but visually stunning (we chose not to see it in 3D) and Despicable Me was hilarious.

A Link for Monday
Catalog Living
This is hilarious! It's catalog photos captioned as if people named Elaine and Gary live there. Genius.

This Girl...
If I didn't have so many grey hairs already, I'd blame them all on The Baby.
Last night, I met a friend and her children at Chik-fil-a. Highlights of M's evening... Ate half of mom's fries. Took off one shoe. Climbed in and out and over the highchair. Walked around, stomping her feet- one shoe on, one shoe off.
New words: Jump, Sponge Bob, bite, more (complete with sign! Bringing her fists together), and... No. Several of our conversations have devolved into a "Yes" "No" debate. I hate arguing with a toddler.
