It's been an interesting weekend.
We've had some really good news, and some really bad news.
And also, I am not a fan of New Year's Eve.
RJ's been working all day.
However... we are finally getting to spend a New Year's Eve together. He's been working or out of country for most of them.
So we're going to have Broccoli Cheese soup and watch movies tonight. Just us.
Perfect.

Merry Christmas Eve!
My child, he insists that it is not Christmas, but Halloween. We try to get him to say "Merry Christmas!" but he says "Happy Haween" instead.
The closest we've gotten is for him to say "Happy Holidays!". In fact, he was shouting it to Mama G. across the produce section of Kroger yesterday. Good times.
In other news...
We've re-arranged our bedrooms. The Child and I did his yesterday. His bed was in a corner, but now it's under the window. He was happy...
But when it was time for bed...
X: no, i don't like it, move it back!
Me: No, we'll do it tomorrow, you need to sleep here tonight.
X: No! I'll just sleep on the floor! (he then collapsed dramatically onto the floor beside the bed.)
Me: No, you need to get into your bed.
X: No, I don't like it!
Me: You need to get into your bed.
X: No, I don't like it!
Me: This is your last chance to get into bed without a spank. Get into your bed.
X: (holds up his arms) help me.
Why the drama? And, by the way, the bed is totally not going to move.

Ahhhhhhhh!
Can you hear that? No? I can't either!
My house is totally silent. My bed, this morning, was totally empty.
I am not getting breakfast, I am not finding cartoons, I am not making a toddler get dressed or changing a diaper.
I am, however, going to finish Christmas shopping this morning... by myself. And then going to have lunch with Amy... just the two of us. And then... I'm not too sure what, but it sure won't involve a toddler!

Freedom!
My son, he has learned how to use the word "why".
I'm trying really hard to give him the benefit of the doubt, and assume that he's not questioning me in an attempt to slowly drive me crazy.
But it's totally working.
p.s.- he's staying at Mama G's tonight! Totally unplanned, but he's going! We needed a break from each other.

The Still, Small Voice
At work today, someone was watching a video. The Child and I could hear the sound, but we couldn't see where it was coming from.
The Child said, "What's that? God?"
Also, we are now potty-bribing with the promise of AWANA Cubbies. A magical land where there will be stories and songs and snacks and games and Ms. Wanda and Mr. Joe and vests and bears.

Thought For The Day
What does it say about my housecleaning skills that my son is amusing himself by blowing a dust bunny across the floor?
Also, what does this say about our current diet- the Child and I had this conversation tonight...
X: Are you cooking, Mama?
X: Rice? Chicken (nuggets)? Turkey? RJ? Baby Xander?
p.s.- it was a bunny that was dislodged from under the plant stand by sweeping. So it's really not that bad. right?

Tabula Rasa
Yesterday, amidst many sighs and moans of frustration, my dear husband re-formatted (is that the right thing to call it?) my computer.
Now all his space-taking games and pictures and whatnot are gone! And I have this whole thing all to myself!!
Ahhhhh!

I'm SO busy
Really. I am.
Also, last week, as I was leaving work, I went into the office to turn in my time-sheet. There was a full trashbag, and some boxes, so I offered to take them out to the dumpster, since I was going out there anyways.
So I took the trash and the boxes, and I went into the kitchen to get some scissors to break the boxes down to take them home to recycle.
I got to the third and last box, and you will never guess what was in there.
Seriously. You will never guess.
It was a scorpion.
Luckily, Brenda from the office happened by.
We couldn't tell if it was alive or not, so just to be on the safe side, i stepped on it. I totally heard it crack.
But then! THEN! it moved.
So we shut the box carefully with our feet, and taped it shut and put the box into the trash.
Yuck.
Aaaaaaand that's my exciting story for the week!
Oh. also. I was sick on Thursday and Friday. A fever. It came and went pretty quickly, though.
