Go Callie!

Saturday, LRCA was in the final of the whatever football thingy they are in. They lost. It was pretty bad.

BUT! Callie and the band were so great! They performed at halftime. Mom told me later that they decided to perform and learned their routine Saturday morning!

THEN! They were in a parade on Sunday! Mom and the Child and I went to watch. The parade was pretty fun; the Child loved it! They tossed out candy, and my purse was bulging with it by the end. (and his Halloween candy was almost gone!)

Don't they look great?!

Callie and her Clarinet.

They did a really good job, and they even got second place prize. I'm really proud of them! And, I'm proud of Callie, in particular.

Memories

My computer has been having issues lately, so I'm backing up all of our pictures. I always forget what the Child was like as a baby...

Announcement

I've finished my Christmas shopping. Mostly. And what I have finished is all wrapped up. It makes me feel so refreshed and on-top-of-things.

If only the Child would stop asking all day long about when we are going to put up the Christmas tree, and if when he wakes up will it be Christmas? And after it gets dark will it be Christmas? And have you found a box for that present yet? Are you going to wrap it? Mom? Mom? Mom! Mom? I have something to say. Mom? Are we going to put up our Christmas tree tonight? Are we going to put up our Christmas tree when Daddy gets home? Where is Daddy? Where? Mom? Mom? Mom? Mom! Mama!

Fall in Fayetville

Pics from last weekend. We went up to Fayetville with Amy and Dave. They stayed with her aunt, we stayed with Nathaniel and Megan. We hung out with friends, went hiking, hung out with some other friends and went to the football game. And then drove home. It was a long, but satisfying day. There are more pictures, but they're on Dave's camera. When I get them, I'll post some more!

These are for Tami:

The trees here aren't so pretty this year; they are all sort of brownish.

Shortly after this picture, Aaron popped his new toy.

And this is what was on my camera when I uploaded pics this morning, the famous "RJ's self portrait":

He's had a really long week- two tests on Wednesday, a test and a presentation today.

Happy Halloween!

The Monkey was insisting on scary faces. So we did Strong Mad and Jack the Pumpkin king (the mean version). The VW is, of course, for RJ.

Ready to go out!

He was the cutest firefighter ever!

Going through his candy. His favorite are Dots.

The Pumpkin Patch

Monday we went to the pumpkin patch. It was the Child's first ever pumpkin patch experience. He loved it! We ended up getting three pumpkins, and he was begging to go back before we'd even left the parking lot.

Learning how sorghum is made. Can you see his little face?

"Mom, this is so good!"

This was his very favorite part- the hayride.

Trying to lift his pumpkin.

Picked it out himself. OK, I did suggest good ones.

Petting the baby ducks and chickens.

Petting the cow. He put one finger on her ear and said, "Look, I'm petting her ear!"

He was saying, "Chicken! Chicken, chicken, chicken! Chicken! Chicken, chicken!"

Feeding the baby pygmy goat grass.

SSSSSleep and SSSSShoes

So this is why we recently got serious and kicked him out of our bed...

And this is why we love each other...

Marching Bands, Football and Star Wars

A couple of weeks we went to WNut's homecoming game. Callie is in the band, and this was their first time to march/wear their new uniforms. Callie's in the middle, with the clarinet.

We went to watch RJ's brother, Tyler, play football. He did really well, and even scored a touchdown! The child was super excited, and was cheering for his Uncle Tyler. It was freezing, but it was a lot of fun.

We got some new Star Wars toys- Darth Vader and Princess Leia. He had them all set up in a grid. He's also been carrying them around in his pumpkin bucket all week.

I rolled my eyes so hard it hurt.

So R.J. has had a three day, overnight drill in Texas. Today, before they are bussed home, they are supposed to have a "Welcome Home" ceremony. Nevermind that they've been home for over a year.

Speaking of "home for over a year", there have been a lot of people asking me if RJ is "gone" lately. It's kind of weird. It kind of feels like there's this whole group of people who have decided amongst themselves what is going on in our lives.

And, one more pic of the wedding...

I love this one! (it was taken by Wanda)

Might be sick, but also maybe not.

The Child has had a cold this week.
When we ask how he's feeling he says, "I don't feel sick and I don't feel better."

It's Finally ATW!

We've been doing the After The Wedding happy dance around here.

More pics later. I'm seeing some photoshopping in my future.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I turned 27 on Tuesday. These are my birthday present from RJ. Aren't they lovely!

So Naomi's wedding is on Saturday. I'm not working for the rest of the week, so I've sort of got a day off today. I kind of don't know what to do with myself. :)

So we've lost two fish. Very sad.
Actually, the Child was distraught about the first one, matter-of-fact about the second one.
